# MBEstudio

Service status: review preview. Paid access is not live until the service's capability response confirms availability.

Connection flow is in preview until the new gateway is deployed. Add https://studio.vectorstreamsystems.com/mcp as a remote Streamable HTTP server, sign in with the user's MBEstudio email and approve the connection. OAuth discovery and S256 PKCE handle credentials without a manual API key. Setup for Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and Claude Desktop: https://vectorstreamsystems.com/agents#connect.

For a free connection check, call describe_mbestudio and get_credit_balance only. Do not start a paid job as a connection test. The user can disconnect apps from the studio account. For scripts that require a bearer API key, create one under Connect your agent > Advanced and keep it in the client's secret storage or MBESTUDIO_API_KEY environment variable.

Call describe_mbestudio to discover the enabled tools, formats and limitations. Call estimate_cost before every paid job, show the model, compute and platform breakdown, and use the user's authorized max_spend_credits. An estimate is not authorization to buy credits or raise a spending limit.

Prefer agent_authored for the lowest model cost when the calling agent can supply the specification. Fetch https://vectorstreamsystems.com/agents/system-spec.schema.json. Preserve function-to-component allocations, interfaces and quantified requirements. Validate the structured specification against that schema. Do not invent missing engineering values; resolve them with the user or clearly identify assumptions.

Three cost modes:
- agent_authored: submit specification; no model call is made by MBEstudio. Platform fee and compute apply.
- byok: use the user's provider key in X-Provider-Key and provider identifier in X-Provider on a dedicated MCP connection. Never put keys in tool arguments, prompts, source files or logs. The provider bills the model usage; MBEstudio charges platform and compute fees.
- managed: MBEstudio uses its configured provider. Model usage at the configured markup, compute and a platform fee consume credits. Local GPU execution must be listed as enabled before selecting it.

Tools: generate_system_model, build_3d_model, run_simulation, run_trade_study, verify_model, export_model and build_full_system. Only use advertised simulation types and export formats. A paid call requires a unique request_id and max_spend_credits. Reuse request_id for a transport retry of the same request.

Long jobs return job_id. Poll get_job_status at a reasonable interval and then get_job_result using the same paying OAuth connection or API key. Job output appears in the owner's studio workspace tagged via agent. cancel_job stops execution and refunds the unused reservation after consumed costs are settled.

If credits are insufficient, show the user https://vectorstreamsystems.com/pricing and the required reservation. Do not repeatedly retry, create a new account or use a different key to bypass the limit. If pricing is unavailable, explain which rate remains unverified; do not imply the run is free.

Simulation executes declared state machines, timers, guards and event traces. It does not establish physical stopping performance or provide fluid, rigid-body or FMU simulation. STEP exports supported physical envelopes, while STL can include authored procedural bodies. Verify the actual scope reported by verify_model; do not describe a compiler check as full ontology or SHACL coverage.
